    Cafe blinds® Information

Our Café blinds are offered in 3 operation systems:

    • Rope and pulley with zippers on sides – seals 100%
    • Gear crank roller system option – 50mm gaps present on sides (This can also be motorized)
    • Slidetrak system option – seals 100% on sides using our popular patented SLIDETRAK channels (This is offered in a manual crank system and motorized option)

Side zip and bottom flap colour options:

Make up of the Cafe blinds® rope and zipper system:

    1

The Cafe blinds® is either mounted underneath the lintel or otherwise on the inside 300mm above lintel (Not advisable to mount outside, unless    there is a substantial roof overhang for protection when rolled away)

    2

The blind is operated using a rope and pulley system. Once rolled up the rope will be longer, this can then be wound around a wall cleat we install. We also offer a (Roll up by hand) option where you secure roll at the top with buckle and clip.

    3

The blind is attached to the side of the wall with a zip belt. The zip enables the blind to seal on the sides and also provides stability in high winds.  The zips are YKK, nylon coated, with high tensile stainless steel double sliders (No rust)

    4

A 50mm steel round pipe is inserted into a pocket at the bottom of the blind to provide weight and also assists in rolling up the blind.

The blind consists mostly of clear marine vinyl. Roll width is approximately 1.37m, your blind will have a join line running vertically should it be wider than 1.37m. The join line is a 10mm high frequency weld (Not stitched) - This provides the neatest finish, although you may get a crimp in the weld where the machine overlaps in the process, this is considered normal. (Specifications and options available HERE). The outer rim/borders and rainflap is an imported PVC material called Ferrari soltis precontraint 600gsm. (Colour options available HERE)

    Ensuring your Cafe Blinds Last

    Cleaning & Maintenance

    1. Wash blinds down with soft sponge and mild soap solution (Sunlight recommended).
    2. Rinse soap off sponge, absorb clean water into sponge and squeeze over window to remove soapy residue.
    3. Use the Chamois to dry and remove water marks.
    4. Wash your blinds once a month.
    5. We recommend treating zips with silicone spray twice a year.

    Characteristics of café blinds®

    1. Clear PVC contracts and expands continuously depending on weather conditions and temperature.
    2. When blinds are rolled down, some may be more wrinkly than others, this will flatten out within a few hours and is also dependent on the amount of sun it receives.
    3. If blinds are wet and rolled up, white frosty lines may appear when rolled down again. These marks will disappear within 5 days depending on exposure time to direct sunlight.
    4. When blinds are rolled down some waves may appear down edges, don’t force the zip through these, glide it down slowly, or alternatively wait an hour or two to close the zips.
